ABOUT

Christine Osgood, LMFT

For 28 years, I've been studying, teaching, and practicing around this central idea: healthy relationships don't happen by accident. They take knowledge, intentional investment, purposeful transformation — and sometimes, the right kind of support.

My career has woven together multiple worlds.

As a licensed marriage and family therapist, I've worked closely with individuals and couples navigating some of life's hardest seasons. As a college professor, I spent years teaching human development, family systems, and wellbeing — translating research into real, usable insight for the people in front of me. As one who provided spiritual companioning, I listened and asked gentle questions that allowed for people to consider the contours of their soul. And in more recent years, I worked in HR, where I saw up close how communication breakdowns, power struggles, and workplace challenges weighed heavily on employees and leaders alike. This combination of experience shapes everything I offer.

In coaching and therapy, I find I am especially drawn to working with people in midlife (ages 30-65) because often the complexities of midlife erode relationship. Specifically, I am drawn to helping leaders address the nuance of how leadership itself impacts their connection with others.  This complexity - the weight and impact of leading - is of particular interest to me.

Finally, faith and spirituality often surface in this work, and I welcome that. My own life has been shaped by the Christian tradition, and I'm comfortable working with folks familiar with this tradition as well as other expressions of faith and spirituality.

Three Ways to Work With Me

1. Classes are offered on occasion.

  • The six session, Pre marriage class is offered in fall and winter in Zoom.

  • Additionally, once a quarter, I zero in on a special topic related to relationships and offer a class for free.  If you're considering coaching or couples therapy, this quarterly class is a great way to get an idea of who I am.

2. Coaching is for individuals who want to address concerns in important relationships.

Coaching gives you a seasoned thought partner — someone to help you think through what's really going on, draw on relevant research, and build skills you can use right away. Sessions are typically monthly, but I'll follow your lead as to frequency. This is the resource leaders often tap into.

3. Couples Therapy is for partners who've significantly drifted and disconnected or are facing a piece of health news that's reordered everything. This is deeper work and often requires more investment. We begin with a thorough history of your relationship and your individual backgrounds, so I can understand the patterns you've built and why. From there, we set a clear goal and work toward it with intention, often with some homework between sessions — reflection prompts, pattern recognition, skills practice - since the work doesn't only happen in when we're meeting.

Coaching and Therapy doesn't have to be continuous to be valuable. People check in with me during a hard season, do good work, and step away — then return when life shifts again. That door is always open.
